What makes the Kicks performance-ready

Interchangeable sole and heel technology
The Women’s Kicks include our complete interchangeable system right out of the box. Your shoes arrive with a #6 slide sole installed — our most versatile option for medium lane conditions — plus a #2 brake heel that gives you controlled stopping power at the line. As you encounter different oil patterns or house conditions, you can swap in additional soles ranging from #2 (maximum slide) through #8 (maximum brake) and heels from #1 through #5.

Fit and comfort details
We designed the Kicks on a women’s-specific last after hearing from bowlers who were tired of wearing scaled-down men’s shoes. The heel cup is narrower and shaped to prevent slippage during your slide, while the forefoot offers room for natural toe splay without excess volume. The arch support sits exactly where women’s feet need it, and the padded insole provides cushioning that lasts through back-to-back games.

Questions about the Women’s Kicks
Yes, your shoes include a #6 slide sole and #2 brake heel pre-installed, which work well for most lane conditions. The package also includes a carrying bag for storing additional soles and heels that you purchase separately. Most bowlers start with the included components and add other sole numbers as they encounter different oil patterns or want to fine-tune their slide.
Start with the included #6 sole on medium oil patterns — this is our most versatile option. If you’re sliding too much and struggling to stop at the foul line, switch to a higher number like #7 or #8 for more brake. If you’re sticking and can’t get a smooth slide, try a lower number like #4 or #5. Lane conditions vary by house and day, so carrying a few options lets you adapt on the spot.
We built the Women’s Kicks on a women’s-specific last with a narrower heel cup, proper arch placement for women’s feet, and a forefoot shape that accommodates natural toe positioning. They’re not simply scaled-down men’s shoes. The fit differences are most noticeable in the heel and arch areas, where women’s feet have different proportions than men’s.
Absolutely. The interchangeable sole and heel system meets all USBC equipment specifications, and the construction quality holds up to tournament-level use. Many competitive bowlers use the Kicks as their primary tournament shoe because the ability to swap soles between squads gives them an advantage when lane conditions transition throughout the day.
The mesh panels are reinforced at stress points and backed by the synthetic leather structure, so they don’t take direct abrasion. With typical league bowling two to three times per week, the mesh maintains its integrity for several years. The breathable zones improve comfort without sacrificing durability since they’re positioned away from high-wear areas like the toe and heel.
The original Women’s Kicks feature our proven interchangeable system and athletic construction. The Kicks II incorporates an updated sole attachment mechanism with larger contact patches and adds additional mesh ventilation zones. Both models use the same women’s-specific last and offer identical performance levels — the Kicks II just has some refinements based on bowler feedback over the years.
Yes, order your normal women’s athletic shoe size. The Kicks use standard US women’s sizing and the last shape matches what you’d find in running or court shoes. If you’re between sizes, we recommend going with your larger size since the lacing system lets you snug down the fit, but you can’t add length if the shoe is too short.
