3G Women's Tour Ultra Bowling Shoes
The Tour Ultra represents our highest-performance women's bowling shoe, engineered for serious competitive bowlers who demand precision with every approach. We built this model with interchangeable slide and traction soles on both feet, giving you complete control over your delivery regardless of lane conditions.

What makes the Tour Ultra special

Interchangeable sole system explained
The Tour Ultra ships with eight total soles—four slide soles ranging from maximum slide to minimal slide, plus four traction soles offering varying grip levels. You can configure each shoe independently, which matters when you’re bowling on challenging lane patterns or transitioning between synthetic and wood approaches.

Kangaroo leather construction and fit
We chose kangaroo leather for the Tour Ultra because it offers a strength-to-weight ratio superior to cowhide while remaining supple enough to break in quickly. The leather flexes with your foot during the approach but resists stretching in the heel and midfoot areas where stability matters most.

Common questions about the Tour Ultra
Start with a moderate slide sole (typically #5 or #6 in our numbering system) and a medium traction sole on your non-sliding foot. Bowl a few frames and assess whether you’re sliding too far or stopping short of your target position.
If you’re sliding too much, switch to a lower-numbered slide sole for more friction. If you feel like you’re sticking, move up to a higher-numbered sole. Most bowlers find their ideal configuration within two or three games of experimentation. The included sole-selection guide provides specific recommendations based on approach surface type and lane oil patterns.
Yes, the Tour Ultra features a removable footbed specifically designed to accommodate custom orthotics. The shoe provides enough volume to replace our standard insole with most prescription orthotic devices without creating pressure points.
We recommend bringing your orthotics when you first try on the Tour Ultra to ensure proper fit. Some bowlers with thicker orthotics choose to order a half-size larger to maintain adequate toe room. The shoe’s structure and heel counter will still provide stability even when the original footbed is removed.
With proper care and maintenance, the kangaroo leather upper on the Tour Ultra should remain in excellent condition for 200–300 games of competitive bowling. Many of our tournament bowlers report their shoes lasting two full seasons or longer.
The leather’s durability depends on maintenance habits—regular cleaning and conditioning significantly extend the lifespan. The slide soles typically need replacement before the upper shows serious wear, especially if you bowl on abrasive synthetic approaches. We’ve had customers use the same pair for three years while rotating through multiple sole sets.
The Tour Ultra performs exceptionally well on both house shots and challenging sport patterns. While the interchangeable sole system particularly shines on difficult lane conditions, many league bowlers appreciate the consistency and comfort for their weekly sessions.
The ability to adjust your slide lets you adapt to changing lane conditions throughout a league season or even within a single three-game series. If your house tends to vary approach maintenance or uses different lane machines, the Tour Ultra gives you control that fixed-sole shoes cannot match.
The Tour Ultra uses premium kangaroo leather for the upper material, while the Tour Elite features an advanced microfiber synthetic upper. Both models include the eight-sole interchangeable system, but the Tour Elite offers two additional slide sole options for extreme lane conditions.
The Tour Ultra typically breaks in faster and conforms more closely to individual foot shapes. The Tour Elite provides slightly more structure and may appeal to bowlers who prefer a firmer feel. Price-wise, the Tour Elite runs about thirty dollars higher due to the expanded sole options and microfiber construction.
After each bowling session, wipe the slide soles with a dry microfiber cloth to remove surface oil and debris. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap solution (dish soap works well) with a soft brush to gently scrub the sole surface.
Rinse the sole thoroughly with clean water and allow it to air dry completely before reinstalling it on the shoe. Never use harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners, as these can break down the sole material and alter its sliding properties. We recommend keeping a designated cleaning cloth in your bowling bag for quick wipe-downs between games.
Yes, we offer complete replacement sole kits and individual soles through our website and authorized retailers. Most competitive bowlers keep an extra set of their most-used slide soles on hand, especially if they bowl multiple tournaments each month.
The replacement soles are identical to those included with new Tour Ultra shoes and install using the same quick-change mechanism. Slide soles typically wear out before traction soles, so many bowlers only need to replace two or three specific slide options rather than purchasing the full eight-sole kit.
